What's New

Recent updates and improvements to Inkwell PDF.

October 24, 2026

Continue with this file & drop anywhere

On-device tools now offer a "Continue with this file" chip after a result, so you can move straight to the next tool without re-uploading. On /tools, drag a file anywhere on the page to choose a tool for it. Opened files ("Open with Inkwell PDF" or shared from another app) land in the same picker.

Installable app (PWA)

Add Inkwell PDF to your home screen for a full-screen, app-like experience. On-device tools keep working offline, and you can open PDFs shared from other apps (or "Open with Inkwell PDF" on desktop) straight into the tool picker.

Recent files and Command palette

A device-only Recent files list on /tools saves your last 15 on-device results in this browser (nothing uploaded), with a "Continue with" hand-off between tools. Press Ctrl/Cmd+K (or tap Search) to open the Command palette — search tools, invoices, clients and actions, with Pro results as you type.

Compare PDFs

Diff two PDFs word by word, entirely in your browser. Side-by-side highlights (removed in red, added in green), a clickable changes list with next/previous navigation, ignore-whitespace and ignore-case options, a scan warning that points to OCR, and a downloadable PDF report. Pro, on your device.

October 24, 2026

Annotate PDF

Highlight, underline and strike out text, draw with a pen, add shapes, sticky notes and text. Saved as real, editable PDF annotations (with appearance streams) that open in Acrobat, Preview and browsers — or flatten them into the page. Standard, on your device.

October 24, 2026

Redact PDF

Really remove sensitive content — not just cover it. Draw boxes, find-and-redact, or use presets (email, phone, SSN, card, dates). Redacted pages are rasterized so nothing survives, with on-device OCR to keep them searchable. The file is verified before download. Pro, on your device.

October 24, 2026

PDF Metadata

See what your PDF reveals (document info, XMP, attachments, JavaScript, form fields, annotations) and edit or remove the metadata. Free, no account needed, runs on your device. Highlights anything that may be personal.

October 24, 2026

Organize Pages and Crop PDF

Organize Pages replaces Rotate & Delete: drag to reorder, rotate, delete, duplicate, insert blank pages, add pages from another PDF, and extract a selection, with undo/redo. Crop PDF trims margins off one page or every page. Both run on your device.

October 24, 2026

Fill PDF Form

Fill in a PDF's own fillable fields — text, checkboxes, radios and dropdowns — right in your browser. Save your details once and fill common fields in one click. Runs on your device.

October 23, 2026

Invoicing for Pro

Create invoices and quotes, send them by email or link, let clients accept quotes online, and track payments, credits and client balances.

October 23, 2026

Automatic payment reminders and recurring invoices

Reminders 3, 7, 14 or 30 days after the due date, and invoices that repeat weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly.

October 23, 2026

Pay now button on invoices

Add your Stripe, PayPal or Square link and clients can pay in one click.

October 23, 2026
